Parkour, parkour, parkour (pronunciation: par - core)

So, I can't believe it. These boys leave on Sunday. I am doing everything I can to learn more about how I can help these boys, even if adoption is never possible or they are hosted through another family, I want to do what I can to help.

I am so thankful to Industrial Dance Project in Crown Point, IN. My son participates weekly in a jr parkour/ninja course. I took N and Y to a class last week. To say they loved it is putting it mildly. They were so pumped on adrenaline that they couldn't sleep when they came home. I surprised them this week with another class, and they will be able to to do open gym on Friday (again, thanks to Miss Bunny and Coach Chili).

When these kids do the parkour, EVERYBODY is in awe. Both N and Y are really in their element. Coach Chili loves watching them and is regularly pushing them to do harder obstacles. It really is like watching an episode of American Ninja Warrior Jr. Check out the videos below!

While I may never really know how I impacted these kids, I don't think they will know how much they have impacted mine either. As a college student, I was able to travel tremendously throughout the world. I saw aspects of wealth throughout Europe and I saw aspects of poverty and despair in Vietnam. These travels kept me grounded, helped me to understand that there is more outside of the US and outside of my own personal wealth and priviledges. Participating in this has renewed those perspectives. Not that I was the Grinch before, but my heart has grown tremendously.

Some of you may be aware of something called Love Languages. My love language is giving. I love to give and see the response of the receiver. I think that this is why I have attached myself so much to these boys. I love seeing their faces light up when I give them something as minimal as a hug. I love seeing their grins when they are able to take snacks from my snack door without having to hide or hoard them. I love seeing their energy and excitement when they complete an obstacle at the parkour course. These boys have such hope and love. I hope that I am fortunate enough to see it grow for them in the future.
